인공지능은 최근 OpenAI의 Chatgpt 도입으로 인기를 끌었다. 다른 회사들은 Google의 Gemini, Microsoft의 Copilot과 같은 자체 인공 지능을 도입하여 이에 맞서려고 노력했다. AI는 우리의 일상생활을 돕는 훌륭한 도구로 개발되었다.

AI의 주요 개념은 프로세스 정보, 채팅 또는 사용자가 원하는 작업과 같은 작업을 수행하는 방법을 컴퓨터에 가르치는 것이다. 이를 위해 컴퓨터는 수많은 데이터 포인트를 학습하고 처리하여 이들 사이의 유사점을 학습하고 이를 작업에 사용해야 한다. 예를 들어, 채팅봇은 독감 치료에 관한 많은 정보를 처리할 수 있다. 정보를 기억하고 분석하면서 Google과 같은 다양한 소스로부터 학습한다. 시간이 지나면서 채팅 봇이 독감에 대해 더 많이 알게 되면서 소스에서 얻은 지식을 바탕으로 사용자에게 독감에 대한 광범위한 지식을 제공할 수 있다. 또 다른 예는 말하는 컴퓨터이다. 사용자의 음성을 처리하고 분석하고 응답하기 위해 컴퓨터는 인간의 음성 녹음을 분석하여 그들이 사용하는 일반적인 패턴, 어휘 또는 문장 구조를 확인해야 한다. 또한 내보내야 하는 적절한 응답을 배워야 한다.

이러한 과정을 통해 인공지능은 더욱 발전하여 더 많은 사람들이 쉽게 접근할 수 있게 되었다. Chatgpt를 만든 OpenAI도 텍스트를 이미지로 변환할 수 있는 AI인 DALLE를 만들었다. 사용자는 단어나 개념, 심지어 원하는 그림 스타일까지 입력한다. 그런 다음 컴퓨터는 수집된 과거 데이터의 학습을 통해 사용자가 입력한 텍스트와 일치하도록 사용자가 본 수십억 장의 사진에서 일종의 변형을 내보낸다. 이제 기본적으로 허공에서 디지털 아트를 만들 수 있게 되었기 때문에 이는 AI의 큰 발전이었다.

최근 OpenAI는 Sora라는 새로운 AI를 출시했다. 이미지가 아닌 실감나는 영상을 생성할 수 있는 강력한 시스템이다. 회사에서 보여준 예에서 비디오는 매끄럽고 실제 여부를 식별할 수 없다. 이와 병치된 것은 인기 배우 윌 스미스가 스파게티처럼 보이는 것을 먹는 모습을 보여주는 유명한 AI 생성 비디오이다. 이 영상은 불과 1년 전에 제작되었으며, 당시에는 모두가 그 힘에 관심을 두지 않았다. 하지만 개발 1년만에 AI가 천문학적으로 발전할 수 있어 위력에 대한 우려가 제기되었다.

많은 사람들이 비디오 제작에 의존하고 있으며, 특히 Youtubers가 이에 해당한다. 그러나 소라와 같은 인공 지능의 모든 힘으로 인해 웨이터나 계산원과 같은 직업을 로봇이 대신하는 것처럼 그들의 직업도 위태로워졌다. 이는 AI가 일자리에 접목하는 위력에 대한 우려를 낳는다. 많은 개인이 일자리를 유지하려면 이러한 수준의 인공지능이 고용 시장에서 사용되는 것을 제한하는 엄격한 규정이 있어야 한다.

Artificial Intelligence; Should we be concerned?

Artificial intelligence has been popular in recent years, first by the introduction of OpenAI’s Chatgpt. Other companies have tried to compete with this, introducing their own artificial intelligence, such as Google’s Gemini and Microsoft’s Copilot. AI has been developed as a great tool to help our everyday lives.

The main concept of AI is teaching the computer how to do tasks like process information, chat, or any action that the user wants. To do this, the computer has to learn and process countless data points, to learn similarities between them and to use them in their tasks. For example, a chat bot can process a lot of information about handling the flu. It will learn from many sources like Google, memorizing and analyzing information. Overtime, as the chat bot learns more about the flu, it can provide extensive knowledge about the flu to the user based on their knowledge from the sources. Another example is a talking computer. To process the user’s voice, analyze it, and give a response, the computer has to analyze voice recording of humans, to see common patterns, vocabulary, or sentence structure they use. Furthermore, they have to learn the appropriate responses that they have to export. 

Through these processes, Artificial Intelligence has further developed, giving great accessibility to the wider audience. OpenAI, the creator of Chatgpt, also created DALLE, an AI that can convert text to an image. Users will input a word or concept, or even a style of drawing they desire. Then, the computer, through its learning from past data collected, will export a variation of some sorts from their billions of photos they looked at to match the text the user inputted. This was a big step of AI, as now it was able to create digital art basically out of thin air.

Recently, OpenAI released its new AI, called Sora. It is a powerful system able to generate, not images, but realistic videos. From the examples shown by the company, the videos are seamless, unidentifiable whether it is real or not. A juxtaposition to this is a famous AI generated video showcasing popular actor Will Smith eating what is seem to be spaghetti. This video was only created a year ago, with everyone not concerned with its power at the time. However, with only 1 year of development, AI was able to improve astronomically, giving concerns of its power.

Many people rely on video creation, most notably Youtubers. However, with all the power of Artificial Intelligence such as Sora, their jobs are at stake, similarly to robots taking over jobs like waiters and cashiers. This gives concern to the power of AI incorporating in jobs. There should be strict regulations made to restrict this level of Artificial Intelligence to be used in the job market in order for many individuals to keep their jobs.
